ARDLETHAN comes alive when their
Art & Music Festival is held over a few days every spring. Usually a sleepy little town of around 300 residents in central New South Wales, Ardlethan bustles with activity as the locals join the incoming national visitors to experience the delights that the Festival has to offer; Major Musicians, Musicians and Dancers... Art, Metalcraft and Textile Exhibitions... Formal Masquerade Ball... Busking in the main street... Cake Competition... Battle of the Bands... Poets Breakfast... Gospel Singing.... and much much more. Looking back at the 2010 Festival Neither rain, nor, hail, nor tempest could dampen the spirits of this year’s festival committee, and in true Ardlethan spirit, the show went on with all the glamour and style that has become synonymous with the Ardlethan Art & Music Festival. Starting with the spectacular talents of Australia’s Raw Dance Company, locals and visitors alike, were presented with four days of the best entertainment to be seen in a small country town the size of Ardlethan. The festival presents an opportunity to dress up for the Gala Friday evening ball, and dress up they did! Evening dresses and suits were teamed with masks to add to the glamour event, which included gourmet dining and bar service. Tenorissimo was breathtakingly belissimo and Jon English and The Rock Show had the “joint jumping”. Art and textile exhibitions as well as street stalls and buskers all combined to make the weekend an event to put in your calendar for next year. Preparations are currently underway for next year’s festivities and you can rest assured that it will, once again, be an event not be missed. Free DHTML scripts provided by Dynamic Drive |
